At more than 9,000 feet, Lake Sabrina freezes early, forming a thick layer of ice.
During the winter, the water level in the lake is drawn down and the suspended ice slab breaks up.
In spring the covering snow melts, leaving very interesting, but temporary, ice sculptures.
The "Lake Sabrina Ice" image is part of the Sealth body of work which are digital images of landscapes, scenics,
and the human form and are based on locations in the Lake Sabrina, Bishop Creek, John Muir Wilderness,
Eastern Sierra, High Sierra and Central Coast of California.
