Yerba Mansa, "gentle herb" in spanish, propagates by creeping rhizomes. In some locations such as some streams in the Alabama Hills, they form large masses. The gentle herb is best known for its extensive medicinal uses however the rhizomes appear to support a green hammock.

The "Gentle Hammock" image is part of the Sealth body of work which are digital images of landscapes, scenics, and the human form and are based on locations in the Division Creek, Alabama Hills, Lone Pine, Owens Valley, Eastern Sierra, High Sierra and Central Coast of California.
