This spectacular meadow full of Blue Flag Irises would not happen without John Muir's
"four hoofed locust". During the summer, Lower and Upper Summers Meadows, south and west of Bridgeport,
usually have several flocks of sheep grazing leading to overgrazing.
This overgrazing by sheep benefits Irises over other wildflower species.
So in the late spring, before the sheep arrive, these Meadows are carpeted with the Irises.

and the human form and are based on locations in Summers Meadows, Bridgeport Valley, Eastern Sierra, High Sierra
and Central Coast of California.
