The Aspens are aggressive but in the long term loose their sunlight to the pines. Hence mixed Aspen and pine forest are not the usual. However along Parker Creek, below Parker Lake, in such a mixed forest, the "Summer" people celebrate their annual gift exchange in the High Sierra Fall under pine trees decorated with Aspen leaves.

The "Parker Christmas Tree" image is part of the Sealth body of work which are digital images of landscapes, scenics, and the human form and are based on locations in the Parker Creek, Parker Lake, Mono Lake Basin, Eastern Sierra, High Sierra and Central Coast of California.
