The top of Devils Postpile is a honeycomb of glacially polished hexigons. Because the Forest Service has continuely reduced the number of camping sites and financially and physically further limited access to San Joaquin River basin, some resourceful people maybe finding alternative sleeping cubicles.

The "Postpile Hexicle" image is part of the Sealth body of work which are digital images of landscapes, scenics, and the human form and are based on locations in the Devils Postpile, San Joaquin River Basin, Eastern Sierra, High Sierra and Central Coast of California.
