Early spring is a time of temperature contrasts along the creek leading to Heart Lake in Little Lakes Valley of John Muir Wilderness. Sometimes the spring melt will freeze over night giving the early morning visitor a spectacular view of Bear Creek Spire.

The "Bear Creek Spire" image is part of the Sealth body of work which are digital images of landscapes, scenics, and the human form and are based on locations in the Heart Lake, Little Lakes Valley, John Muir Wilderness, Eastern Sierra, High Sierra and Central Coast of California.
