The Desert Evening-Primrose has very fragrant white and violet tinged flowers
that can be up to 4" (10 cm) across.
They are "disturbed surface" plants; that is they grow best where they do not have to
compete with other established Great Basin Steppe shubbery. Roadsides are ideal locations. This Primrose
garden was found next to Benton Crossing Rd. east from Highway 395. Eliminating
roads could significantly endanger this spectacular wildflower species.
