GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSIONS
For Poetry is rated code II in Poet's Market: This means that we are not open to beginners' submissions. Poets interested in submitting to For Poetry should be familiar with literary journals and magazines.
Due to the large number of submissions, please do not send more than two poems.
Simultaneous submissions are acceptable.
All submissions must be emailed in the body of your email to the Editors@ForPoetry.com address. Please do not send poems via attachments.
We prefer a cover letter or brief bio with your poems.
Time between acceptance and publication may vary from two weeks to a month.
NOTE: If you do not hear back from us within two weeks, then your poems were not accepted. Rejection of poems may have more to do with a back-log; i.e. there are periods when we cannot read new submissions.
No submissions from May 1st--August 15th.
Magazine Needs
We are interested in lyric poetry, vivid imagery, open form, natural landscape, philosophical themes but not at the expense of honesty and passion. Prose poems are acceptable. Model examples, click here.
No city posing punk junk, corny sentimental Hallmark fluff, or academic workshop imitations, please.
