Me at 3 years oldDidn't think so. But he does.

This is a picture of me when I was three. That was almost 14 years ago. Back then I didn't know I had Tourette's Syndrome.

In fact, I had no symptoms that anyone really noticed until about the third grade. I wasn't diagnosed until fifth grade, and even now, nobody knows I have it unless I tell them. Why? Mainly because I don't go around screaming offensive stuff--at least not unmotivated :o)--like everyone thinks all Tourette's patients do. Coprolalia is the official term for that. I don't have that part of Tourette's, and neither do another two-thirds of my fellow TS patients.

I actually have a pretty light case of the affliction. It's sometimes combined with Attention Deficit Disorder, but not in my case. No coprolalia here, either. My main problem is "simple motor tics" and a few "complex motor tics," and now and then some "simple vocal tics." If you don't know what a tic is I have set up a  FAQ page to give you the scoop on that and more. But, rest assured, tics will NOT give you Lyme Disease.
