IDEA ONE is for those folks who have a cat whose claws are ripping the carpet and upholstery to shreds.  MEW'S MAT, a humane alternative to declawing, works with feline behavior so that the cat will confine its scratching and clawing to MEW'S MAT and will leave the rest of the human stuff alone! IDEA TWO is for those folks who live more than 10 miles from the local telephone exchange (Paso Robles to Creston, for example).  After we used the HCF AT Command Set to change our Rockwell Conexcant HCF PCI modem from V-90 to V-34, we saw an increase in our dial-up speed from 19600bps to 26400bps.
