Children's Ministries and the Arts

Rev. Sarah-Kate heads up both our Performing Arts and our Children's Ministry. As a singer, dancer, auntie of eight, and a mother herself, she loves little ones and is passionate about music and dancing, so she has combined the two ministries! She has been ministering to the children and young people at The Revival Center for thirteen years.

The church body has always been encouraged to use their artistic talents and abilities, whatever that may be (singing, dancing, poetry, painting, etc.) in ministry.

We've even facilitated Creative Worship Nights, where people can experiment with everything from musical instruments to playdough!

Individuals and groups can sign up with Sarah-Kate and minister in the arts on assigned Sunday morning services.

Here at The Revival Center, we value our     children. We find no scriptural basis to segregate children into another room, especially during a Sabbath celebration! But we do find in the Scriptures that children worshipped in the congregation, Jesus invited the children to Himself in the midst of adults, and we know that God instituted the family as a unit of training. We do believe there is a time and place for children's ministry, but children learn by example and so we encourage parents to bring their children to church to learn to worship as they do. We are a family church, so our pastors are not irritated if children might fuss occasionally in service. It's all a part of being a family!

"They will dance with joy like we're dancing now!..."

... But, on Wednesdays, our S.T.A.R.S. practice! Our S.T.A.R.S. (Small Talented Artists Really Shining) are very special to us! The little children in our church are learning to shine as lights to their world according to Matthew 5:16 through song, dance, and scripture memorization. "Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven!" They have certainly blessed our body!
